Frequently Asked Questions Q. Do you offer an installation service. A. We do offer an optional installation service that covers London and the South East. However, we can also work with you to design and make your kitchen so that you or your trusted fitter/builder can install the kitchen with the minimum of fuss. Q. Is all your timber sourced from sustainable resources? A. Yes. We source our timber from a number of suppliers. They source only from properly managed forests and supporting absolutely the Forest Principles adopted in 1992 by the UN Conference on Environment & Development. We also use timber products that are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or Pan-European Forest Certification (PEFC) scheme approved. Q. I would like a painted kitchen, can you paint it for me? A. Yes, although we usually recommend that our kitchens are painted on site. Although, to give you a head start, we can carry out the priming and undercoating for you in the workshop at additional cost (pricing pages). If you you would like us to fully paint your kitchen for you then we can do this also. Q. Can I paint my kitchen? A. Yes. We can supply your kitchen ready for painting or part painted should you require a head start. We recommend one coat of primer, two coats of undercoat and two to three oil based eggshell top coats depending on the coverage. Q. How complicated is the installation of the units? A. All our units are supplied ready assembled. The installation of the units is no more complicated than a normal kitchen and can be accomplished by an average DIYer. However, we do remind you that the installation of gas requires a CORGI registered engineer and now the installation of electrics also requires a fully qualified and certified electrician. Q. What is the difference between Framed and Plant-on kitchen units and which should I choose? A. Framed kitchen units have the doors inset into a frame with visible hinges whereas plant-on units have hidden hinges and the doors close directly onto the cabinet. There is more information about the difference available in the Kitchen/Door Styles page. Q. What is the normal delivery timescale? A. We aim to deliver your furniture within six weeks of the placing of your order and finalising your design. Q. What are your payment terms? A. We ask for a 25% deposit when you place your order then the remaining 75% on delivery of the furniture. If we are installing your furniture then the installation charge is payable on successful installation. Q. What forms of payment do you accept? A. We take a cheque, bank transfer (BACS) and most major credit cards. Credit card payments carry a 2% surcharge. Q. Do you have a showroom? A. We have a showroom attached to the workshop. It operates restricted hours and more details are available in the Showrooms page. We can also arrange showroom viewings and a personal design service by appointment. Q. Do you have a design service? A. Yes we do offer a design service and more details are available in the Kitchen Design page. We would recommend making an appointment for a design so that we can devote enough time to talk your ideas through with you. Q. How are your cabinets made? A. Our cabinets are made on site and to order. More information about our cabinet materials and cabinet manufacturing information is available on this site. Q. How much does it cost to deliver? A. Delivery costs are detailed on the pricing pages. Q. How much are different width kitchen units? A. We generally do not charge different amounts for different widths of unit so a 352mm wide single door base unit will cost the same as a 543mm wide single door base unit. This means that if you want to reduce the cost of your kitchen then the design should incorporate fewer but larger units.
