This open-plan family space was a couple of years in the planning. Our clients wanted to settle into their new home, get the feel of it and have complete confidence about their renovation and extension plans before embarking upon their kitchen journey. Space and light were vitally important, and our clients asked for contemporary Shaker cabinetry in pale shades, with a large island and seating space. We considered many permutations, including a separate hob and built-in ovens. But to retain a sense of flow, light and space we suggested that a range cooker would be a better option. Our frame-to-ground plinths also emphasise a streamlined, pared-down look that is simple and aesthetically pleasing. Seamless Silestone work surfaces continue the sleek style. The oak drawers in the island can be used as trays or drawers – and add a very individual touch to this kitchen.
