Designer Kate was looking for a kitchen design inspired from a trip to a Belgian cafe.  Higham Furniture and Kate had worked on a number of previous projects but this was the largest project they had worked on together.

We are very proud that the kitchen was the cover on the Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedrooms magazine June 2013.  A copy of the article can be read by clicking the magazine cover.

The worktop is a Jura Grey limestone with ebony stained oak full stave worktop on the island and butchers block.

The cooker is a 1092 Deluxe cooker from Falcon.  The fridge freezer is from Maytag.  The sink is the Edgworth from Shaws of Derwen. The floor tiles are Tundra honed limestone from Mandarin Stone. The splashbacks are glass painted on the back in Farrow and Ball Vert de Terre.

The cabinetry is painted in Farrow and Ball Cornforth White.

Tucked under the worktops is a moulding.  The breakfronts are enhanced with fluted legs.  The drawer fronts have a subtle scooped routed handle.

The glazed wall cabinets have a decorative top box which is lit to provide ambient lighting.

The raised island back has useful trays which double as drawers for storing iPads, chargers, bills and children’s arts and crafts paraphernalia.

The fridge is recessed into the wall with a pantry and walk in utility room.
