There are many striking and clever features in this kitchen – not just the cabinetry, of course, but the dramatic, tall steel Crittal windows, and the contrasting natural wood finishes of the dining and console tables. The wood burner ensures this extended space is warm and welcoming all year round. The island is centred within the space – at one end is the range cooker, then the island, then the dining table and finally the steel windows and vaulted ceiling. Our design team had lots of space to work with but had to consider the overall layout, flow and ease of use throughout the whole open area. We love details like the larder door which sails over a step – we suggested a pair of drawers underneath instead to accommodate that step! Drawers on either side of the range cooker keep all the cutlery and crockery contained, and the splashback and upstands in pale Carrara marble keep the colour scheme minimal and restful.
