This magnificent kitchen is pulled together by a brave blue colour scheme. Owner and interior designer Kate trusted Tim Higham, designer and director, to find a solution to the various challenges posed by this project, including differing ceiling heights, a need for copious amounts of storage and a pitched roof with Velux windows. Kate wanted a traditional kitchen that would work seamlessly with the rest of her home, but which included contemporary touches and natural oak details. The available height in this kitchen allowed us to extend the wall cabinets close to the ceiling, giving that American feel and providing extra storage space. And because all our cabinetry is custom-made, we were able to specify slanted backs for the wall cabinets above the range cooker to enable them to fit snugly and perfectly against the sloping roof.
