This astonishingly striking kitchen is a prime example of the transformation of a north London Victorian terraced house. Our clients were re-designing and extending to make the whole house flow in a more logical manner, and to improve how the family could use the living, kitchen and dining space. We had to consider the frameless glazing overlooking the garden, the roof lights and the black metal framed doors opening onto the terrace. Dark blue painted cabinetry ‘anchors’ the large, light-filled open space, and Buster + Punch handles add a quirky, industrial look. This kitchen is all about contrasts – pale walls and white work surfaces let the dark cabinetry stand out, the handles shine against the navy cabinets, the yellow walls glow too in contrast to the walls and then, to soften it all we can see the luxurious pale pink upholstery positioned under the garden-view window.
