All of our furniture is handmade from excellent quality wood.
Painted doors are made from solid hardwood for strength or we can make doors out of any wood depending on the look you are trying to achieve and availability. We would recommend woods such as Tulipwood (Poplar), Maple, Oak, Cherry, Walnut or Beech:
It should be noted that wood colours and graining vary. We select the best looking hardwoods for your furniture. If you would like to personally select your wood then you are welcome to visit us or even our wood supplier!
For our painted units we only use hardwood for the door rails and for the frames of our framed kitchens. We generally use Tulipwood as it gives a smooth paint finish with no grain showing through.
Our standard option for our cabinets is to be made from Solid Hardwood Birch Ply. Usually we supply this lacquered to protect the cabinets from daily dirt and grime. Our cabinet back panels are solid too and made of the same material.
An alternative option, but one that gives amazing results are Oak veneered onto poplar ply. The veneer is a layer of real hardwood to match your doors backed onto a hardwood Poplar ply. This option works really well with dresser, wall, open and glazed units. We are also now able to supply Walnut veneered onto ply for a darker interior finish.
We can also make the cabinets from Melamine Faced Chipboard (MFC) and can be supplied in white, a colour or with a melamine veneer to match your doors. We would normally supply MFC where a customer wants a specific non-wood texture or colour on the inside of the cabinets.
Our drawers are made from hardwood timber dovetailed front and back with a strong bottom.
Our drawers use high quality runners which are fully extending, self and soft closing.
