We enjoy working with new materials and have had some fun with Aluminium. When making cabinets often we will have to make them in sections so that they are manageable enough to carry and also due to access problems in people’s houses. We then have the issue of how to join these sections together. Often we try to colour match the sections so that they are as close as we can get. However, we have started offering the option of a silver strip made of aluminium between the units. It is really very effective and makes the whole piece a little more contemporary. We have used this technique with both Walnut and Oak to create a Walnut and Silver or Oak and Silver effect.
These bookcases were made to fit around the existing radiator. Most of the bookcase is left open but there are a number with inset Black Parapan solid acrylic doors.
