This warm and refined framed Shaker kitchen in Tunbridge Wells was designed by Alexander and is complemented by a cohesive dining area, pantry and utility. This multi-room project balances craftsmanship and material harmony with a palette that moves from rich depth to soft tonal calm, creating an elegant and timeless living space.

This elegant kitchen combines traditional joinery with contemporary living. The cabinetry is painted in Preference Red, a colour that brings a sense of understated drama. The painted maple doors and solid oak dovetailed drawers provide strength and durability. A honed Calacatta Viola worktop sits at the heart of the space, its distinctive veining adding texture and movement, while satin antique satin lacquered hardware from Armac Martin provides a refined, classic finish. The overall feel is rich and welcoming, blending tradition and modernity with ease.

In the adjoining dining area, painted in Hague Blue, the atmosphere deepens through rich blue tones and antique brass hardware from Yester Home. The scheme creates an intimate yet connected flow between kitchen and dining, unified by shared craftsmanship and balanced proportion.

The pantry offers a lighter, complementary note, painted in Little Greene Ashes of Roses. A Neolith Estatuario Silk worktop enhances the calm, bright aesthetic, while satin antique satin lacquered Armac Martin hardware ties the space back to the kitchen’s elegant detailing.

In the utility room, painted in Cook’s Blue, natural oak handles and knobs from Matilda Goad & Co introduce a tactile element alongside the Arenastone Arabescato Aria worktop. A Villeroy & Boch sink and brushed brass tap from ABI Interiors enhance both functionality and elegance, continuing the project’s consistent focus on craftsmanship and thoughtful design.

This Tunbridge Wells home showcases a complete Higham project where every room has been designed with intent, balance and quality. From the deep hues of the kitchen to the softer tones of the pantry and utility, each space reflects Higham’s commitment to timeless design, enduring materials and effortless cohesion.
