Nicky had a large room and wanted to create an open plan kitchen/dining/living area where the family could be together and she could keep an eye on her children as she cooked.
By keeping the tall units to the left hand side and not including any wall units either side of the extractor it makes the room feel even more spacious.
We added a wide bespoke 7 drawer unit below the hob which is ideal for storing utensils and pots & pans.
The Corian worktop cascades down the edge of the kitchen cabinetry towards the garden creating a low level side board for storing toys.
By attaching the peninsular to the wall it provided more practical worktop space and created an ideal area behind for the banquette seating.
The simple, light, handless style units and Glacier White Corian worktop helped create a sleek, contemporary feel to the cabinetry matching the architecture of the room and garden.
Benefits of layout:
In such a large room most people would choose to have an island with a separate dining table near the bi-fold doors. Connecting the banquette seating to the back of the peninsular is a great way to integrate the kitchen and dining area and saves space so there is more room for a living area.
By not leaving a gap between the kitchen cabinetry and low level storage units it enhances the length of the room and gives more storage space.
