Painted Platerack |
Not everyone wants their plates on display but a handmade plate rack can be an efficient way of storing and displaying your crockery if you do.
We have found that the standard way of designing a plate rack with bars at the front and back can limit the amount of crockery that can be stored in the unit. By placing the spindles at the back and the bottom of each section you can store the plates much closer together.
We also leave the bottom of the plate rack open so that any excess water can drip through to the surface below. Mostly the plates are dry anyway as they have come straight from the dishwasher.
The only issue with this kind of plate rack is the number of spindles to paint!
