Fulham – Shaker Kitchen with Grey Island & Moroccan Lights

A kitchen designed around two quietly considered tones, Little Greene French Grey on the main perimeter runs, and Little Greene Pompeian Ash on the island, this is a scheme where restraint does the heavy lifting. The two colours sit in close harmony, separated just enough to give the island its own presence without disrupting the calm of the wider space.

The cabinetry is built to Higham’s 70mm framed Shaker specification, with painted maple doors and ply panels set within painted tulipwood frames. Oak drawer boxes introduce natural warmth within the cabinetry, while lacquered oak veneer ply carcasses ensure the same quality extends throughout. Higham’s proprietary inset handle, finished in Satin Antique Silver Lacquer and produced exclusively with Armac Martin, is set flush within the door face, an integrated detail that keeps the profile uncluttered. The perimeter cabinetry runs frame to ground, with an inset plinth detail to the island front only.

Silestone Versailles Ivory worktops run across the perimeter and island in a polished 30mm finish, with a matching splashback completing the scheme in a single, uninterrupted surface. A Villeroy & Boch Farmhouse 80 ceramic sink is paired with a Perrin & Rowe Ionian bridge mixer in white levers. The range, a Lofra Dolcevita dual fuel cooker with brass trim, introduces warmth against the cooler palette of the main runs, with a Novy canopy extractor sitting cleanly above. Moroccan Bazaar island pendants complete the picture overhead, their texture sitting naturally against the Pompeian Ash below.

The wall colour, Atelier Ellis Beginning, provides a soft backdrop that ties the room together. Furniture from Where Saints Go and a Soho Home dining table complete the space as a room designed for living in, as much as cooking in.
