This warm and characterful kitchen features thinner border Shaker cabinetry with painted tulipwood frames and painted maple doors with ply panels. The Aga run is finished in Paint & Paper Library Leather V 235, anchoring the space with depth and warmth, while the fridge run and pantry cabinetry are painted in Little Greene Mochi 344. The raised island, finished in Little Greene Light Bronze Green 123, introduces a softer contrast, creating a balanced and layered palette. Calacatta Altissimo honed marble worktops sit at the heart of the space, with a double bullnose edge and split riser on the island adding weight and craftsmanship. Dark bronze hardware from Armac Martin provides a refined, tactile finish throughout.
At the centre of the kitchen, the island offers generous workspace and informal seating, paired with chestnut bar stools. The island is raised on 70mm x 70mm legs and dressed with custom aged brass socks.
High-end appliances, including a four-oven Aga, a Fisher & Paykel fridge freezer, and two Miele dishwashers, are integrated. The sink run is finished with a Villeroy & Boch farmhouse sink and Perrin & Rowe Ionian bridge mixer in English bronze, complemented by a ceramic undermount prep sink and Quooker boiling water tap.
The pantry continues the kitchen palette, with honed slate worktops chosen by the client for their depth and texture. Salvaged pendant lights from the property’s original interior bring character and a sense of history, while a Blomberg fridge freezer and fluted butler sink ensure the space is practical. Nero Parquet black limestone flooring grounds the room with a strong architectural presence.
In the utility room, cabinetry is painted in Paint & Paper Library Pollen II 471 and paired with lacquered oak veneered ply carcasses and oak interior detailing. The single-stave worktop is finished with Osmo Ebony oil, while a fluted butler sink and Perrin & Rowe tap in aged brass bring refinement to the room. The space is completed with hand-printed wallpaper from Lake August.
The boot room is designed with everyday life in mind, finished in Paint & Paper Library Truffle 271 with oak interior detailing to the bench seating and tall storage.
This Gustard Wood home showcases a complete Higham project where every space has been thoughtfully designed to work together. From the richly toned kitchen to the layered utility and boot room, the result is a cohesive, characterful scheme that balances craftsmanship, colour and practicality for modern family living.
