Our client was planning a substantial full-width extension to the back of the house, to provide a spacious L-shaped kitchen and dining area. The building plans had already been drawn up, and it was immediately obvious to us that the island they desired could be perfectly positioned directly beneath the new roof lantern. As there was plenty of perimeter space for the cooking and washing up areas, it meant that the island could be simply a work and prep space – and the ideal spot for the children to do their homework assignments. We all admire the proportions and symmetry of this kitchen … It looks neat and fuss-free, incorporates traditional design elements and includes a magnificent Larder cupboard too!
