Inspired by the American East coast, Rachel and Glen Wardrop wanted this reflected as they planned the kitchen extension to their beautiful Edwardian home.

Ceiling heights of almost 3 metres allowed us to offer taller than normal units that included lit, glazed top boxes that added to the sense of scale and a wonderful warm ambience.

The cabinets are framed and include cock bead. The doors are panelled with a small moulding. The cabinets are painted in Farrow and Ball All White. The worktops are Carrara marble.

The cooker is a Smeg Opera 1000mm wide dual fuel range with an Opera chimney hood over.  The fridge is a Neff freestanding American style fridge freezer.

The flooring is a European Oak plank in Doppia Fumo Classico finish.

The island seats three comfortably.

The glazed, lit wall cabinets include decorative boxes that add warmth to the kitchen as well as making full use of the tall ceilings.

The dresser displays glassware and includes LED strip lighting.

The island has a nine-drawer pack offering wonderful storage space. It creates aesthetic interest with the pattern whilst retaining clean, symmetrical lines.

The larders provide a range of storage options that include scalloped handled boxes on drawer runners, storage racks on the doors and open shelving.

The top drawers include cutlery and utensil trays to provide an organised feel!

We loved the kitchen and were delighted and proud when it was chosen as the cover of Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedrooms magazine February 2014. Click on the magazine cover to read the article and where Rachel’s inspirations came from.
