Our client had several priorities for this kitchen … one was to have a false chimney above the four-oven AGA, which would be positioned centrally, flanked by the two small windows. This idea worked well with the concept of a large island and wide walkways all around. There are opening drawers on the island and perimeter cabinetry, so it was important that there was space to move around easily! There are lots of little details we love – the little ‘spice drawers’ either side of the sink are actually ideal for sponges and cloths, and the larder cupboard has to be one of our favourites too. The colour choices are understated and clever; the whole room looks streamlined and calm with the AGA as a stand-out feature against a neutral background.
