Our clients removed the existing contemporary kitchen when they moved into their new home; they wanted to enjoy a kitchen that resonated with the overall traditional style of the house. We suggested adding a faux chimney with piers and an elaborate mantle – this houses the AGA perfectly, adding balance and a focal point to the kitchen. The island is the perfect prep space – it’s positioned directly opposite the AGA, and the far side also acts as the breakfast bar. We suggested oak details, so there are duckboard slats below the island, as well as oak drawers – which can also pull out completely to use as trays. The interior of the Larder cupboard is oak, as are the interiors of the glazed tall wall cabinets.
